All of the Telescope Live are CCD cameras that image in monochrome. In order to obtain a colour picture of an astronomical image, different colour filters must be used to separate the colour components of the object, and then combined in post-processing.
To make the imaging camera more sensitive and versatile the CCD camera sensors we use simply gather information about the light levels received. Colour information is given by large filters, installed within a filter wheel, that are moved in front of the camera while performing an observation.
Note that TelescopeLive does not currently provide tools for post-processing and to create a colour image. You will need to download the black and white images obtained in the various filters from TelescopeLive and use third-party tools such as Pixinsight, Photoshop or Gimp to combine your images and create a colour image.
